There are a number of styles,
genres and antique sofa designs that you can choose from to bring home some of
the best leather
sofas in Bangalore.
So how exactly do our craftsmen
put together these pieces of art from scratch? Let us take you on a journey
through a day in the life of a Chesterfield craftsman.
Crafting a Chesterfield starts
from the leather. The heart and soul of a Chesterfield is the leather and we
have, over a long period of time, mastered the art of making and finishing
leather our own leather. This leather comes from hides that are sourced from
countries across Central and Western Europe. These hides are then processed
using the latest technology, and ensured that the fabric is also eco-friendly.
It takes about three weeks for a salted hide to transform into supple leather
ready for use in a Chester’s piece. There are many kinds of leather that are
used in different pieces of Chester’s furniture such as Silky, Pull-up, Nappa,
Laguna, to name a few. Once our highly trained tanners have the finished
material, our handy craftsmen come into play.
The first phase of creating a
sofa is creating its frame, which is the foundation of a classic Chesterfield.
There are several kinds of superior qualities of wood such as Kiln Dried
European Beech, Hard Pine Wood that helps prevent any damage to the sofa. And
then comes the stage of Suspension and Webbing, for which we use the best
quality imported steel springs and elastic webbing. Since this is the component
of a Chester’s sofa that bears the most load, we ensure there is no compromise
in the quality of materials used. The last two components of crafting the
perfect Chester’s sofa include the Padding and Upholstery. Our padding includes
materials such as natural jute, coir matting, felt among others. This padding
layers the frame with steel staples and water-based glues. And the last and the
most regal part of the upholstery includes adding the final touch of leather
chosen from our selection to complete the masterpiece.
